The Fabric Shows (dgExpo) will return the New York Fabric Show to the Metropolitan Pavilion in January 2020. Located at 123 West 18th Street in the heart of Chelsea, the show will take place January 20 and 21. The show will coincide with other sourcing events taking place the same week, providing a convenient experience for buyers coming to New York City to source fabric, trims and other resources.

The New York Fabric Show (produced by dgExpo) takes place twice a year (January and July), coinciding with other New York textile events. The Fabric Shows are business-to-business trade shows for designers, manufacturers, private label retailers, event planners, retail fabric stores and others who buy fabric and trimming wholesale. Exhibitors are American and European wholesale suppliers, including mills, converters and importers. All provide low minimums and many have in-stock fabric and trim.

“This show was launched in 2012 as a low minimum sourcing show, primarily for designer brands,” said Susan Power, show producer. “What we quickly learned was everybody needs small quantities sometimes! Visitors to our show include some of the most prominent names in our industry. We see many well-known designers at our show, and on a regular basis, we have buyers from such companies from Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs, Eileen Fisher, Anna Sui, Tory Burch, Macy and Disney.”

Other resources are also made available at the shows, including made-in-the-U.S. production facilities and a convenient resource center, which provides additional information on sourcing fabric, trims and other services.

The Fabric Shows (formerly dgExpo) was started by Susan Power in 2012 in New York City. Since 1988, Susan has been providing sourcing information to apparel and home furnishing industry professionals. Since then, the Fabric Shows have expanded, bringing shows to San Francisco, Miami, Dallas and Chicago. The Dallas Fabric Show will take place March 25 and 26 at the Dallas Market Center/World Trade Center. The newest location to the list of major metropolitan cities is Atlanta.

“Kendor Textiles has been involved with the DG expos for the past eight years,” said Paul King of Kendor Textiles. “We credit these shows as the main reason our business across the U.S. has grown substantially over this time period, and we have gained hundreds of long-term, repeat customers.”
