At least 25 people were killed in a tornado in Tennessee last week, with even more people displaced from their homes. Soles4Souls, a Tennessee-based non-profit, recently issued a plea for donations in the wake of the disaster.
“This week’s tornadoes in Tennessee hit Soles4Souls especially hard, happening right in our own backyard. While we are very thankful that our team is safe and have only minor damage at some of their homes, we are all devastated by what this storm has done to our middle Tennessee community,” said Jamie Ellis, vice president of marketing and communications, in a statement. “We are already working with local partners to assess the need, and have a large shipment of new shoes and clothing on its way from our main warehouse facility which will be arriving tomorrow. From there, we will be working with those partners to distribute to residents through the three counties that were hit.”
Soles4Souls is asking brands to donate product to meet the need and for anyone to donate online to cover shipping costs.
