The California Fashion Association urges industry leaders, especially those based in California, to look carefully at Senate Bill 1399 (SB-1399), which could impact several aspects of garment manufacturing in the state.
The bill was originally proposed by the legislature in response to findings that garment workers in the state are often paid under minimum wage. The bill also addresses some of the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the workforce.
