The Same Face. Two New Expressions
Eyes wide open. Pupils turning. The horizontal regulator places the hours at 9 o’clock, the seconds at 3 o’clock, and an arrow-shaped minute hand across the center. Time does not merely pass. It looks back. Turquoise glows cool and sharp: a light grained base, deep blue -green counters and a twotone minutes ring, deep blue-green above, violet below. Rhodium-toned discs and hands keep the composition crisp; green luminescent details give the creature its night vision. Brown changes the temperature. A light brown grained base meets dark brown counters and a two-tone minutes ring in dark brown and ochre. The 5N-treated discs, hand and crown bring a warm metallic flash. Earthy, yes. Tame, never. In both, the inscription Louis Erard ♥ Konstantin Chaykin sits at 6 o’clock. A love note in plain sight. Because every good transformation needs a little affection.
The Case for Character
The frog is not drawn onto a watch. It inhabits one. Its 40 mm case is sculpted from Grade 5 titanium, alternating satin-finished planes and polished curves. Light on the wrist. Strong in character. At 12 o’clock, the winding crown becomes an actual crown, polished titanium for Turquoise, warm physical vapor deposition (PVD) 5N for Brown. Function becomes expression. Construction becomes character.
Armor, Recolored
Black Himeji Kurozan leather brings the armor. Sourced from a historic tannery in Japan, it is hand-rubbed, naturally tanned and finished with traditional Urushi lacquer. Turquoise adds violet stitching and a violet leather lining. Brown stays black, outside and in.
