Hey Harper, the female-founded original waterproof jewelry brand, loved by “It Girls” across America, is marking its 8th birthday by pausing all sales for 24 hours to put 8,000 pairs of its signature Dazzling Long Earrings—$760,000 total retail value—on U.S. consumers, no purchase required. The activation addresses widespread consumer frustration with tarnishing jewelry, backed by a survey of 1,000 U.S. women:
- 86% experienced a jewelry issue in the past year.
- 40% had jewelry turn their skin green or discolored.
- 68% stopped wearing pieces after they tarnished or faded.
- $25 billion spent annually on jewelry that tarnishes or fails.
“Turning eight is a big deal, and we wanted to prove that affordable jewelry shouldn’t fall apart. Instead of a sale, we are closing the store for 24 hours and putting 8,000 pairs straight into people’s hands, no purchase required,” said Catarina Oliveira, founder of Hey Harper
Waterproof: Proof, Not Just a Promise
Founded in 2018, Hey Harper uses marine-grade stainless steel coated in 14K gold physical vapor deposition (PVD). Unlike traditional gold plating, PVD molecularly fuses color to metal to resist tarnishing, fading and water through everyday wear.
A New Chapter: Designer Collection with Amari Carter
On October 22, Hey Harper will launch its first-ever designer collaboration with Amari Carter of Netflix’s Next in Fashion. The collection features butterfly motifs and asymmetrical morphed circular designs across rings, earrings, bracelets and necklaces.
“The inspiration is deeply personal. Partnering with Hey Harper allows me to share a story of transformation through durable, wearable design,” said Amari Carter, fashion designer
