Cleverhood has introduced Stormy, a limited-edition rainwear series. The pattern is based on NOAA Doppler radar data of visually intensified weather patterns linked to climate change. “The print is an ode to meteorology and the unfortunate looming forecast ahead. Despite the dark story, the print is bright,” said Cleverhood’s founder, Susan Mocarski. Like storms, the Stormy print is designed so that no two garments are the same.
Cleverhood thoughtfully designs well-made outerwear that looks and feels different. Their original garment is the RainCape, Mocarski’s solution for better coverage and breathability while walking and cycling in the rain. The eye-catching Stormy print enhances pedestrian and cyclist visibility in traffic-heavy environments. Mocarski feels strongly that “when people walk and cycle in our cities, towns and neighborhoods, it gives them a breathing heart. We strengthen our communities with the simple act of getting out and walking around.” Cleverhood is focused on greater usage of alternative transportation, donating 5% of sales to organizations that help make streets safe and more walkable.
All of Cleverhood’s raingear is waterproof, breathable and uses PFAS-free C0 durable water repellent. They have functional features: high-lumen reflectivity, YKK waterproof zippers, and an adjustable hood and sleeves. Innovative cycling thumb-loops create an airy tent over peddling legs, and a new back cinch secures the garment in wind—an all-weather biker’s dream. The generous front pocket doubles as a compact self-stowing pouch, perfect for traveling, near or far.
