G-Shock Toughness Goes Analog: The New 2500 Series Reimagines the Watch That Started It All

Casio America unveiled the 2500 series, the latest addition to the G-Shock family of shock-resistant watches. The GMC2500 and GAC2500 carry the spirit of the brand’s founding model onto an analog dial, uniting the emotional appeal of a classic watch with practical, real-world function.

G-Shock made its debut in 1983 with the DW5000C, a watch built to resist gravitational shock. The 2500 series honors that tough DNA and its iconic silhouette, reshaped with softer, more rounded contours. Inspired by our natural connection to time, the face centers on “multi-mission date”: a three-cell window at 3 o’clock that shifts between the date, mode, stopwatch minutes and setting information. Enter the year, month and day once, and the calendar takes care of itself. At 9 o’clock, a small seconds hand can pause to save power and restart whenever needed.

Gentle curves catch light and shadow from every angle, while signature button guards and a sculpted octagonal-round bezel frame sharply defined indexes for a sophisticated, easy-to-read finish. Select models incorporate bio-based resin components, supporting Casio’s ongoing efforts to reduce its environmental footprint.

“The 2500 series reflects our clients’ growing appreciation for timepieces that are purposeful, innovative and progressive while staying true to our brand’s renowned and most celebrated signature design,” said Shermeen Greenmun, vice president of timepieces at Casio America.

The collection will be offered in three distinct executions:

  • GAC-2500: Resin models emphasizing utility and everyday versatility
  • GMC-2500: Metal-accented models offering a more premium expression
  • GMC-2500D: Full metal bracelet models delivering the collection’s most refined and elevated appearance
