Dress for Success Worldwide announced the launch of its annual global campaign, #YourHourHerPower, in celebration of International Women’s Day.
The campaign highlights stories from Dress for Success clients around the world and calls on individuals to donate one hour of their pay to help women gain access to the career resources and tools the organization offers to position them for economic advancement.
“Dress for Success has been at the forefront of empowering and advancing women for 23 years,” said Joi Gordon, CEO of Dress for Success Worldwide. “We are proud to have served more than 1.2 million women worldwide, but there is still more work to be done to achieve the equity International Women’s Day calls for.”
With women accounting for only 38% of human capital wealth globally (compared to 62% for men) due to lower workforce participation and pay according to a 2018 World Bank Study, the imperative for balancing the scale on gender and pay equality is undeniable.
“Celebrating the women whose lives we have had the honor of helping to transform is what makes this campaign special,” continued Gordon. “But what is even more special is the fact that it offers anyone who is passionate about the vision and mission of International Women’s Day an opportunity to contribute to a cause that delivers tangible outcomes.”
Of Dress for Success’ signature program participants, 80% reduce debt, 76% secure employment and 23% are promoted within one year.
Cataleya London, Chloe Wine Collection, KPMG, Mineral Fusion, Sorel, Swarovski, Wander Beauty and YENSA Beauty are also partnering with Dress for Success to help amplify and deepen the impact of #YourHourHerPower.
Individuals wishing to support Dress for Success this International Women’s Day with a donation of one hour of their pay may visit the campaign’s microsite.
