The New York Botanical Garden released a company statement following the increased awareness of coronavirus. The following is a letter from NYBG’s Carrie Rebora Barratt, Ph.D., CEO & The William C. Steere Sr. President:

Dear Friends,

Since I last updated you on the status of the Garden’s COVID-19 response, there have been more developments that affect NYBG.

NYBG is temporarily closed.

We have temporarily closed the Garden to support New York City’s effort to contain the spread of COVID-19. The safety of our staff and visitors is our top priority, and we will continue to monitor developments and reassess accordingly.

During this period, our devoted staff will continue to provide expert care for our living collections and the Garden’s 250-acre landmark landscape until we reopen.

All events and programs, including The Orchid Show, remain suspended through March 31, and we will extend this timeframe if necessary.

Here are important contacts for your convenience:

Please consider making your purchase a donation to help us at this time.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the Garden. In the meantime, stay connected to us through our website and on social media. We will share the beauty of spring at NYBG to brighten this challenging time.

Thank you for your continued support during this period of uncertainty.
