The long-awaited addition to Monmouth County’s wellness scene is now a reality. LA Fitness opened its Signature Club at Aberdeen Plaza, located at Route 35 and Cliffwood Avenue in Cliffwood, New Jersey, announced Woodmere, New York-based shopping center owner/manager Basser Kaufman.
The 34,000-square-foot club occupies the former site of an A&P Supermarket. The upscale Signature Club format offers higher-level equipment, classes and personal training, as well as resort-style amenities including a full-size basketball court, indoor pool, sauna, steam room, whirlpool spa, towel service and toiletries.
“This gorgeous new club will attract the attention of fitness and health-conscious consumers and attract them on a daily basis to our Plaza,” said Robert Goldfeder, director of leasing for Basser Kaufman. “The fanfare at the ribbon-cutting showed how excited the community is with this new addition.”
The facility is complying with all New Jersey COVID-19 regulations. Check-in is contactless, and equipment has been spaced to accommodate social distancing. Classes including indoor cycling, Zumba and yoga are available by reservation on LA Fitness’ mobile app. A Kids Klub, which offers baby-sitting services for an additional fee, is not available at this time, but will debut when permitted by local regulation. Hours are 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 5 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, and 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on weekends.
LA Fitness Signature Club signed a 15-year lease at Aberdeen Plaza and joins Jersey Mike’s, Domino’s and H&R Block. Now in the midst of a total reinvention, the open-air neighborhood center boasts a newly resurfaced parking lot with ample parking and a modern, a new façade and other improvements.
