Gap Inc. Appoints Coleman Smith to Board

Gap Inc. has named former Walt Disney Company executive Salaam Coleman Smith to serve on its board of directors, effective March 22.

Coleman Smith served as executive vice president at the Disney ABC Television Group, overseeing strategy and programming for ABC Family and Freeform. She directed long-term growth strategies for the network, key business and creative partnerships and overall content strategy for linear and digital platforms, including mobile and streaming platforms.

Prior to joining The Walt Disney Company, Coleman Smith spent more than a decade at Comcast NBCUniversal, where she served as president of Style Media and steered the scaling of a multi-platform television network and fashion and lifestyle brand. She also worked at Viacom, where she served as a senior executive within MTV Networks International and directed programming strategy for Nickelodeon’s global expansion in Europe, Asia, and Latin America.

Coleman Smith will be the sixth female member of the Gap Inc. board of directors. She is a member of Pinterest Inc.’s board of Directors. She earned her Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering from Stanford University.
