Faropoint Hires Janus as Vice President of Acquisitions to Expand Midwest Presence

Faropoint, a real estate investment firm focused on last-mile industrial properties in high population growth markets, has named Michael Janus as vice president of acquisitions in the Midwest. Janus will oversee investment opportunities, asset management and the strategic growth of Faropoint’s footprint across Chicago, Cincinnati and Columbus. Janus will report to Faropoint Senior Vice President and Midwest Market Officer Jordan Nathan.

“Michael has a wealth of experience managing teams and growing assets under management for some of the leading real estate investment firms in the Chicago area,” Nathan said. “We’re excited to work with him and believe he is a great culture fit and an incredible addition to the team.”

Faropoint is a tech-enabled, data-driven asset manager with more than 400 warehouses and 20 million square feet of logistics space acquired to date. The company focuses on acquiring buildings between 20,000 to 300,000 square feet and is among the most active buyers of last mile facilities in the country. In Chicago alone, Faropoint owns approximately 42 buildings totaling more than 2.2 million square feet.

Janus spent over 12 years managing diversified real estate portfolios and overseeing advisory services, equity procurement and investment sales at firms including Cadence Capital Partners, HFF (acquired by JLL) and Inland American REIT. Prior to joining Faropoint, he served as vice president of investments for healthcare private equity fund Medcraft Investment Partners.

He graduated from Miami University (Ohio) in 2010 with a degree in Urban and Regional Planning.
