L&L Holding Company has appointed industry veteran Jamil Lacourt to the newly created position of chief operating officer.
Since joining L&L as executive vice president and director of Construction in 2020, Lacourt has played an integral role in advancing L&L’s biggest projects, including the completion of 425 Park Ave.e and the ongoing Terminal Warehouse redevelopment, the company said.
Other projects include L&L’s entry into the South Florida real estate market with The Wynwood Plaza, a one million-square-foot mixed-use campus bringing high-end residences, retail options and a highly amenitized office tower to Miami’s Wynwood Arts District. Lacourt has also been instrumental in the formation and ongoing operation of L&L Development Group, which is currently undertaking 460 Fern, a world-class luxury apartment and retail tower in West Palm Beach, and Cape Coral Grove, a massive town center in Cape Coral that will feature new residences, a hotel, office space, dining, shopping, public parks and activated outdoor spaces.
“Throughout his tenure at L&L, Jamil has demonstrated time and again that he possesses the strategic vision, business acumen and leadership skills to contribute to the firm in myriad ways. His elevation to COO is a reflection of his talent and the impact he has had on the firm,” said L&L Chairman and Chief Executive Officer David W. Levinson.
As chief operating officer, Lacourt will provide oversight of L&L’s development projects and collaborate with Ron Gentile, L&L’s newly appointed chief administrative officer, and Howard Slavin, executive vice president who oversees asset and property management, cleaning and security. Together, they will continue to lead the day-to-day operations of the firm.
Prior to joining L&L, Lacourt served as principal and director of project management for OC Development Management, where he oversaw L&L’s repositioning and expansion of 150 Fifth Ave. Other notable projects include the redevelopment of 21 Penn Plaza, 695 Sixth Ave. and 780 Third Ave. He also provided landlord representation of capital projects at 100 Williams Street; a large commercial interior project at 390 Madison Avenue; master planning for the redevelopment of 405 Park Avenue; and façade improvements at 315 Park Avenue South.
Earlier, he served as vice president at JLL, associate director of construction at Stanford University and senior vice president at Citi.
Lacourt received a Bachelor of Science degree in construction management from the State University of New York (SUNY) Farmingdale.
