Monadnock Development has signed a 3,000-square-foot lease with School of Rock, a provider of music education for kids and adults, at 300 Huntington, a 136,000-square-foot commercial mixed-use development in Gowanus/Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn.

Upon move-in later this summer, School of Rock will utilize 300 Huntington as the home of its interactive music education program and learning environment, catering to Gowanus’ growing demand for family-oriented services. 300 Huntington is also home to Hazel Village, an ethical handmade toy manufacturer that partners with artisans in Peru, Nepal, Cambodia, Colombia, and locally in Brooklyn.

“We’re thrilled to welcome School of Rock to 300 Huntington as our building tenancy continues to evolve and enrich the community,” said Frank Dubinsky, chief operating officer of Monadnock Development. “Among its many attributes, 300 Huntington is an ideal home for School of Rock, offering larger format Class-A space near areas such as Cobble Hill and Park Slope, with unbeatable transit access.”

School of Rock will utilize its space at 300 Huntington for its award-winning music education program, inclusive of a wide array of group and private lessons for children and adults and will feature 9 lesson rooms and three larger rehearsal studios.

“After a decade in the neighborhood, School of Rock is continuing its journey at 300 Huntington as the ideal space for our next phase of expansion and growth,” said Bob Jones, owner and director of operations at School of Rock New York and School of Rock Brooklyn. “We are eager to return to full operation at 300 Huntington, fostering a relationship with music for students of all ages.”

Founded in 1998, School of Rock boasts nearly 400 locations across the world and offers students the opportunity to learn from professional musicians in an interactive environment combining weekly private lessons and structured group rehearsals with the ultimate goal of live performances. The program specializes in guitar, drums, keyboards, vocals and bass and caters to all ages and skill levels. School of Rock moved a majority of its operations to a virtual capacity during the COVID-19 pandemic and will be utilizing its new space at 300 Huntington to continue expanding the company.
