The spectacular 4,869 sq. ft. “Glass Penthouse” apartment PH7AB at 130 East 12th Street, owned by former HBO CEO and chairman of the board Michael Fuchs, has sold for $4.725 million to an undisclosed tech company founder.
The East Village apartment boasting a towering 40-ft atrium centerpiece and private rooftop terrace with breathtaking 360-degree views of the city has an exciting history.

Fuchs hosted many star-studded Oscar after-parties in the 80s and 90s there with Hollywood glitterati in attendance like Billy Crystal, Diana Ross, Robin Williams, Bette Midler and many renowned entertainers of the day.
In 1995 Fuchs became vice president of Time Warner and then chairman and CEO of The Warner Music Group. He also produced many concerts for HBO and later started the HBO Bryant Park Summer Movie Festival, one of NY’s most popular free summer events.
The apartment was sold by Luciane Serifovic of Luxian International Realty, who represented both Fuchs and the buyer of the penthouse that features three bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, two terraces and large screening room where the glamourous Oscars after parties were held.
Still on the market is the Legendary Loft, a 1,705 sq. ft. 6th floor apartment split off from the Penthouse, being sold separately for $1.995 million, which features a special gallery used by Fuchs to showcase his extensive art collection.
“This is a unique, legendary apartment that has an incredible history,” said Serifovic.
“It was an exciting property to sell and I’ve had some great laughs with Michael Fuchs.”
