Full-service real estate organization Rudin has named industry veteran Drew O’Connor senior vice president and head of commercial property management.

O’Connor, who will report to Mehul J. Patel, head of commercial office, brings more than 28 years of experience to his new role directing and overseeing the day-to-day property management of Rudin’s 10.5 million square foot commercial office portfolio in New York City. He will also be entrusted with leading and mentoring building staff.

He comes to Rudin following 11 years at Cushman & Wakefield, where he most recently served as senior managing director in charge of Cushman’s 47 million-square-foot New York City commercial portfolio and a team of 680 professionals. Prior to Cushman, O’Connor spent 15 years at Grubb & Ellis where he directed the management, administration and efficient oversight for their tri-state Management Services division. In this role, he managed its 14 million-square-foot facility and property management portfolio and led 380 supporting employees.

“Drew brings a wealth of experience managing people and properties to his new role here at Rudin,” said Executive Vice President Michael Rudin.  “His deep understanding of what companies and their employees need in order to thrive, gleaned from nearly three decades in the industry, will greatly benefit Rudin and all of the people we serve throughout our commercial portfolio.”

O’Connor currently serves on the management board of directors for Real Estate Board of New York, which recognized him in 2019 as its New York City Portfolio Manager of the Year. He is also a member of BOMA/NY and is a participant in the Partnership for New York City’s David Rockefeller Fellowship Program.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Niagara University and a graduate certificate in real estate investment and development from New York University.
