Bill Wafford Named CFO of JCPenney

JCPenney has named Bill Wafford as executive vice president and chief financial officer, going into effect on April 8.

After The Vitamin Shoppe announced that Wafford had resigned as of April 5, the news broke that he would be moving to JCPenney. Wafford has previously worked for KPMG and Walgreens Boots Alliance, and prior to this he held multiple finance roles at Bank of America and Target.

In a statement about the appointment, CEO of JCPenney Jill Soltau said, “Bill brings extraordinary depth and breadth of experience to our executive team. His first-hand knowledge and understanding of financial turnarounds will help JCPenney deliver improved results and drive profitable growth.”

Wafford succeeds Michael Fung, who will remain at the company as interim CFO until May.
