Through March 31, Fashwire will donate $1 for every download of the Fashwire App (App Store and Google Play) to the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) to support the 25th anniversary of the CFDA Scholarship Program.
“Through Fashwire’s philanthropic arm, we have long been committed to donating $1 a download to charitable causes,” stated Kimberly Carney, CEO and Founder of Fashwire. “The mission of the CFDA, which is to strengthen the impact of American fashion in the global economy, and its 25-year commitment to education through the scholarship fund, is entirely in line with our goal to transform the fashion industry and gives our engaged designer base powerful exposure through our two-sided marketplace.”
In 2021, the CFDA celebrates the 25th Anniversary of the CFDA Scholarship Program, marking a milestone in supporting exemplary talent. With the organization’s continued commitment to education, $250,000 will be awarded through the 2021 CFDA Design Scholar Awards, of which the CFDA has earmarked $75,000 for COVID-19 Relief Scholarships within these anniversary funds. The CFDA COVID-19 Relief Scholarship is a $75,000 discretionary fund. Scholarships will be awarded to students who are experiencing with hardship as a result of the pandemic.
“The CFDA is incredibly proud to mark this milestone for the CFDA Scholarship Program, which, over the past 25 years, has provided many young talents with the opportunity to build careers in the American fashion industry,” said Steven Kolb, CEO of the CFDA. “Now more than ever, students need our support to succeed. They are the next generation of fashion designers, thought leaders, innovators and activists who will collectively move our industry forward. We thank Fashwire for the partnership and for helping us with additional funding to invest in the future of fashion.”
