This past week, designer Aisha McShaw showed her Fall/Winter collection for New York Fashion week at The Prince George Ballroom. The event was attended by Steven Kolb, the President of The Council for Fashion Design of America (CFDA), fashion industry veteran Bethann Hardison, Deborah Roberts anchor of Good Morning America, Film Producer Tonya Lewis Lee, civil rights leader Rev. Al Sharpton and other notable attendees.
According to Aisha McShaw: “This collection was an exploration on the more daring and provocative part of myself. I was inspired through my trips to Italy and France, which led to the incorporation of a lot of chartreuse and purple colors, geometric and water color prints in our pieces. Details and craftsmanship are still a huge part of our brand identity, and we tried to show that through integrating textures of feathers, velvet, silk, and embellishments.”
Aisha McShaw Designs is expanding with the help of creative director, Sergio A Barrios, and production manager, James Ishman and it is a made-to-order brand, however Aisha is looking to showcase her designs online and expand into other distribution channels this year.
In 2018, Aisha McShaw had many notable highlights including an Essence Festival fashion show in New Orleans, Louisiana, and several private trunk shows. In 2019, Aisha McShaw will continue to expand her line.
