Teamkit Launches Kickstarter Campaign

Former Calvin Klein Creative Director Michael Berkowitz is launching Teamkit, a luxury men’s underwear collection. The brand, which focuses on style, sophistication, function and design, recently launched its first style on Kickstarter, bringing luxury boxer briefs direct to consumers.

After designing and launching other men’s underwear styles for brands including Nike, and Gap, and consulting with Lululemon, Tom Ford and Jay Z, Berkowitz turned his focus to his own line. His new boxer briefs use BondX technology to reduce threading in seams that cause chafing and irritation while also fusing its patent-pending pouch to the brief.

“Underwear is the most important article of clothing a man can wear,” said Berkowitz. “From our chlorine- and saltwater-resistant fabrics to thread-reducing BondX technology and carefully designed pouch, men will never go back to their old underwear once they try Teamkit.”

Drawing inspiration from high-end cycling apparel, Teamkit created a new hem technology in its boxer briefs. BondX hems are thermo-bonded and fused, eliminating 75% of the total threads in the boxer brief’s seams and hems. This technology creates a precise fit that supports every movement without chafing, riding up, pinching or bunching.

As part of their technological approach, Teamkit also created the patent-published Clubhouse Pouch. This no-bounce, ergonomic, 3-D pouch is fused to the garment without stitching and keeps everything in place and close to the body.

The underwear is made with an Italian microfiber nylon jersey material from Italy’s fabric mill, Eurojersey. The fabric is quick-drying and chlorine- and saltwater-resistant.

Teamkit is available to pre-order on Kickstarter in black or midnight blue starting at 65% off future retail prices. To view the campaign, click here.
