Keller Williams NYC has announced The Michael Shapot Team, headed by Associate Broker Michael Shapot along with agent Klevis Metani, has transformed its UES $7.7M townhouse exclusive listing into an art gallery. The tri-level property located at 226 East 79th Street debuted artist Sonya Sklaroff’s pandemic-inspired paintings at a recent open house on October 19th. More than 60 people attended. The artworks will be on view until November 19th by appointment only.
“We wanted to host an event that was a bit ‘outside the box’, in the hopes that interested buyers might attend and be able to picture themselves hosting their own parties there,” explains Klevis Metani, licensed real estate salesperson, The Michael Shapot Team at Keller Williams NYC. “Because art is a universal language, it seemed the perfect way to highlight the amazing space.”
“The pandemic has been an excruciating time for everyone, but I witnessed New Yorkers coming together to show strength and resilience. My paintings reflect the hope and perseverance that the people of New York City experienced during this time of pain and suffering” Sklaroff states. “And now New York City has returned, improving more and more each day”.
Sonya Sklaroff is a contemporary American painter who lives and works in New York City. She received her BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and her MFA from Parsons School of Design. Sklaroff has exhibited her work in solo exhibitions in the US and abroad. Her paintings may be found in public, private and museum collections around the world.
