Riemer & Braunstein LLP, a law firm specializing in representing financial institutions, life insurance companies and debt funds in real estate and commercial transactions, announced that Meghann Salamasick joined the firm as a partner in its Chicago office. Salamasick is an experienced real estate finance attorney who brings to the firm a broad range of experience representing institutional and non-institutional lenders in bilateral and syndicated commercial transactions.
“The addition of Meghann to our Chicago office will expand the firm’s capabilities in representing our institutional clients in the Midwest and nationally,” said Matt Nash, the managing partner of the firm’s Chicago office and a co-chair of the firm’s Real Estate Finance Practice Group. “The firm continues to focus on having a team with the experience and skills to enhance the firm’s position as a national leader in providing clients with real estate finance legal services.”
Salamasick’s representative transactions include construction loans for arena, hospital, university, mixed-use, residential, student housing and hotel projects, secured and unsecured credit facilities for REITs, corporate loan structures with real estate credit support, portfolio real estate loans to private equity investors and senior/mezzanine capital stack financing. She has also worked in distressed finance, including transactional and litigation practice related to defaults, workout strategies, foreclosures, restructures of commercial financing and dispositions of REO distressed assets. Further, Salamasick has extensive experience in special assets portfolio management, negotiations with distressed debtors and structuring optimal recovery of collateral.
She graduated from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 2009.
