Bayou Concrete, a supplier of concrete solutions from the Mississippi Gulf Coast to Mobile Bay and the Florida Panhandle, announced a name change and rebrand that will allow the company to share the same name as its sister company, MMC Materials Inc. The name change is expected to go into effect in January 2025, at which point Bayou will officially become MMC Materials Gulf Coast LLC.
“These two companies already work closely together, sharing resources and technologies, and we believe that this name change will help both companies be even better resources for our customers across the region,” said Judd Beech, president of both MMC and Bayou.
Established in Jackson, Mississippi in 1927, MMC has become a highly regarded provider of comprehensive concrete solutions to commercial and residential customers throughout Mississippi, West Tennessee and Eastern Louisiana. With Bayou taking on the MMC name, the company brand will now expand to Coastal Mississippi, Alabama and Florida.
Both companies are part of the Dunn Investment Company group of businesses. Dunn is owner of one of America’s oldest contracting businesses and holding company of multiple operating businesses located throughout the Southeast. Bayou and MMC also participate in Dunn University, an innovative workforce development initiative that provides training opportunities for every employee, as well as workforce development for those outside of the company in order to develop a pipeline of potential new employees.
