Scott Durkin Returns to Corcoran as Luxury Associate Broker

The Corcoran Group recently announced that Scott Durkin is rejoining the firm as a Licensed Associate Broker, following his tenure as President and Chief Executive Officer of Douglas Elliman Real Estate. The news was announced by Pamela Liebman, Corcoran’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Durkin will be associated with the sales agents at Corcoran’s East Side office.

A respected industry veteran with more than three decades of experience, Durkin has built an extraordinary career and is widely regarded as one of residential real estate’s most accomplished leaders. His connection to Corcoran dates back to the early 1990s, when he began as an agent before quickly moving into management. He ultimately served as Corcoran’s Chief Operating Officer, where he mentored countless top-producing agents, and had a regional leadership role in Florida, in addition to managing the firm’s high-producing Chelsea office.

In 2015, Durkin joined Elliman to drive the firm’s national expansion, ultimately serving as the firm’s Chief Executive Officer. In that role, he oversaw thousands of agents and offices nationwide and played a key part in strengthening Elliman’s international presence through its partnership with Knight Frank – expanding global exposure for both the firm’s top agents and marquee listings.

Now returning to Corcoran, Durkin brings with him a wealth of experience and a deep appreciation for the brand where his career first began. With 15 years’ involvement in the competitive Dressage arena in both Wellington, Florida and Saugerties, New York, he will leverage his expertise in the equestrian world to lead the sales and marketing of some of the most exceptional equestrian properties as Corcoran’s lead equestrian specialist. Durkin is currently licensed in New York and is soon to be licensed in Florida.

“I couldn’t be happier to welcome Scott back to Corcoran,” said Liebman. “He brings an unmatched knowledge of our business, deep international expertise, and with the strength of the Corcoran brand behind him, I have every confidence that this next chapter will be his most successful yet.”

“Coming back as a luxury residential associate broker at Corcoran truly feels like returning to my roots,” said Durkin. “I spent almost 27 years at Corcoran to start my career, and I’ve always had tremendous respect for Pam and the incredible company she’s built. We grew up in this business together and I’m thrilled to be back. After years in executive leadership, I’ve always felt a real pull to return to what first inspired me about real estate: the relationships and the white glove service that happens one client at a time.”

Durkin is a longtime New Yorker and passionate advocate for the city’s real estate community. He has been a frequent commentator and industry expert for outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Forbes, and The Real Deal.
