William Raveis Real Estate released its 2027 Luxury Real Estate Market Predictions.
Bill Raveis, who founded the brand in 1974 in one room over a grocery store in Fairfield, Connecticut with a $2,000 loan, a desk, a phone and an MLS book, analyzed the brokerage’s year-to-date report for 20 luxury markets for all properties that sold for $1 million or more and detailed predictions.
“What I predicted for last year’s ‘Luxury Market Spotlight’ came true, starting with higher average selling prices—at $2M to $5M for almost all locations shown,” explained Raveis. “Time on the market may fluctuate year over year, but overall, it signals a return to a more balanced real estate market.”
In 2027, William Raveis Real Estate expects a moderate increase in average sale prices. Each market is unique, but the rule of thumb in real estate is well-priced houses often sell at a premium, and our luxury marketplace is no exception. Likewise, as inventory continues to build, there will be fewer multiple bid offers.
Also, within the luxury marketplace, present interest rates have very little impact on the $3M and over homes, compared to our $500,000 to $750,000 median price range.
The brokerage’s website, www.raveis.com, provides local housing data with specific market forecasts throughout Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York (Hamptons and New York City), Rhode Island, Vermont and South Carolina.
“We are currently running a percentage point or two above inflation, and the Federal Reserve has not announced any sweeping changes to this scenario,” continued Raveis. “Historically, real estate offers homeowners a hedge against inflation. Along with steady growth in the housing supply at three to six months, consumers and agents are in a great position for the year ahead.”
In summary, the brokerage predicts average sale prices to rise, and inventory will build in 2027. Each market is unique, and well-priced houses often sell at a premium—the luxury marketplace is no exception.
