Elegran, an independently-owned, technology-driven real estate brokerage in New York City, is expanding its team by 20 percent with the addition of accomplished new sales manager Benjamin Willig and his team of 18 agents. In line with the firm’s forward-thinking approach to real estate, the expansion will allow Elegran to further leverage its position and seamlessly provide outstanding service as this winter approaches.
Despite the unprecedented impact of COVID-19 on New York’s real estate market, Elegran’s unique technology-focused foundation has allowed it to gain its first 4% market share and secure more listings during COVID than at any time in its 10-year history.
“The addition of Ben and his talented team will allow Elegran to continue breaking barriers and offer a safe harbor for New Yorkers during this disrupted time,” said Michael Rossi, CEO of Elegran. “In the COVID era, we have added to our existing team of superb agents and, most importantly, continually increased resources for their advancement. The traditional pool of foreign and out-of-town buyers have extremely limited access to the city right now, and we’re experiencing a shift to a hyper-local, New Yorker-focused market. Agents must become trusted advisors for their clients through and through.”
Willig began his real estate career as an analyst on the global corporate real estate team at Credit Suisse before joining Anchor as an agent in 2009. He quickly rose through the ranks, taking on a sales management and COO position in 2015 to help turn the firm’s work culture and profitability around. Having closed over $500 million in sales volume during his career, Willig saw an opportunity to compete on a much higher level by joining a forward-thinking firm like Elegran that prioritizes technology and innovative marketing tools.
In his new role, Willig will join Elegran director of sales Jared Antin on the firm’s sales management team and will be responsible for guiding agents through every aspect of the transaction process while helping them maintain a healthy work-life balance.
“Today’s hustle culture has been compounded by the fact that many are working from home and have constant access to work life,” said Willig. “Like Michael, I believe teams built on a foundation of shared purpose, hard work and fun are the most successful, so I’m confident my team will be a seamless extension of the Elegran family.”
Willig’s dedication to continued education via business mastery workshops, seminars, books and podcasts shaped his leadership style into what it is today. Exemplifying Elegran’s “people-first” philosophy, Willig’s passion for personal development and company cultures that inspire both fun and hard work will drive how he structures systems to help agents to reach their highest potentials, both personally and professionally.
A few of the top-performing agents joining Elegran from Willig’s team include Fern Kamins, Howard Hauptman, Art Jalandoni, John Dugan, Alexa Johnson, Niko Gavrieli and Mick DiStasio. With over 80 years of combined industry experience and an encyclopedic knowledge of various Manhattan neighborhoods, the new team is well-equipped to give clients a crash course in NYC real estate, so they feel confident choosing their next homes with Elegran.
