REBNY Honors Residential Management Leaders Ellen Gribben Bornet and Linda C. Gawley at 21st Annual Breakfast

At the Real Estate Board of New York’s (REBNY) 21st Annual Residential Management Leadership Breakfast, members of the residential property management industry gathered at the New York Hilton Midtown to celebrate outstanding leaders in the field and hear from keynote speaker James Patchett.

The President and CEO of the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) discussed actions that the NYCEDC is taking to prepare the city for economic fluctuations and shared a post-game analysis of Amazon’s HQ2 in New York City.

“I have no doubt that history will prove this was an incredible missed opportunity for the future of our city. But I am also confident in New York’s resiliency, and know we will pivot quickly and go on to do other great things,” Patchett said.

Patchett went on to detail the NYCEDC’s transformative projects including: making sure garment manufacturing has a place in the 21st century economy and doesn’t become an industry of yesterday; fostering the tech ecosystem to make the city the innovation capital of the world today; and supporting life sciences to develop the major scientific breakthroughs of tomorrow.

“Across the board, we are taking an aggressive, multipronged approach to development, one that keeps our economy dynamic and inclusive,” he said.

REBNY President John H. Banks addressed REBNY’s advocacy efforts and congratulated the award winners who represent the best of New York City’s residential property managers.

Linda C. Gawley, Managing Director at Charles H. Greenthal Management & Sales, was honored with the Residential Management Community Service Award for her work with the Mary Manning Walsh Home and Family Circle, among other organizations. The award was presented by Michael Wolfe of Midboro Management, Inc., chair of REBNY’s Residential Management Council (RMC).

Ellen Gribben Bornet, General Manager at Rose Associates Inc., was named Residential Management Executive of the Year. The award was presented by John McDermott of Ogden CAP Properties, LLC.

This event is annually hosted by REBNY’s Residential Management Council and the Residential Breakfast Planning Committee, which is comprised of: Russell Heigel, RoseTerra Management; Albert E. Mayas, Charles H. Greenthal Management Corp.; Elly Pateras, Douglas Elliman Property Management; and Michael Wolfe, Midboro Management Inc.
