Investor/builder Suffolk has named Tony Rango as president of Suffolk West region, where he will be responsible for leading the firm’s operations in its existing markets of San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego and expanding the company’s presence throughout the state of California.
“We are excited that Tony has joined the Suffolk family to lead our West Coast operations,” said John Fish, chairman and CEO of Suffolk. “Tony has the visionary leadership, unparalleled industry experience, reputation for excellence and strong local relationships that will allow us to greatly expand our presence in the region, attract the very best talent and strengthen our leadership position and brand presence in the California construction market.”
Before joining Suffolk, Rango held leadership positions at Webcor Builders for more than 22 years. At Webcor, he served as executive vice president and chief operating officer, overseeing all operational activities, executive management and staffing for projects. He also led the company’s Northern California business unit. His industry experience also includes business development, operational efficiencies, budgetary oversight, jobsite safety, employee engagement and client satisfaction.
Earlier this year Suffolk announced an expansion from its core business of construction into additional vertical service lines to create a fully-integrated platform that adds value for clients across the entire building lifecycle. The company also launched a new brand identity to reflect its broader future ambitions and unique position and capabilities in the industry.
