After three-plus years on the market and a handful of broker swaps, a medieval-looking co-op at 44 Gramercy Park North has finally found a buyer.
The so-called ‘medieval lair,’ which is replete with 14 stained-glass windows, a stone fireplace and carved wooden doors, is now in contract for an undisclosed amount above its $3.75 million asking price. (Unless it’s many millions over, that’s still a good deal: The 1,868-square-foot dwelling asked $7 million when it first came on the market in April 2014, StreetEasy shows.)

The owner, whose identity was not immediately available, has reportedly lived there for nearly 60 years.
The 12th-floor unit is housed in a 16-story, circa-1930s building designed by prominent New York architectural firm Schwartz and Gross. Additional standout touches include wood-paneled and stone walls, stunning ceiling moldings and a 500-square-foot terrace with views looking south, north and east.
The great room and dining room overlook Gramercy Park. And yes, the apartment also comes with a key to that gated green space. (Source: The New York Post)
