Named after a village in Cyprus, this new 20-unit rental building will also feature a gourmet market in its retail space.
The Ivan Mijalkovic Team at The Corcoran Group recently announced the launch of leasing at ATHA, a boutique luxury rental building located in the heart of Long Island City, Queens. Developed by Athienou Properties LLC and designed by Z Architecture PLLC, the name ATHA was chosen as a nod to Athienou, an ancient village on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus – and the hometown of one of the development partners.
ATHA’s 20 one- and two-bedroom rental residences are well-equipped for the way today’s New Yorkers live. The placement of the building’s floor-to-ceiling windows was designed to maximize light and views in living areas, while allowing for privacy in bedrooms. All homes come complete with white oak hardwood floors, California closets, a dual-zone heating and cooling HVAC system, an AI phone/intercom, and an in-unit Bosch washer/dryer.
The open kitchens at ATHA are outfitted with white Caesarstone countertops and a full suite of stainless steel appliances, while baths are finished with Italian porcelain tile. In addition, every apartment boasts private outdoor space, a feature that’s at the top of the ‘wish list’ for many apartment seekers.
Building amenities include a second floor fitness center which leads to an outdoor recreation terrace. ATHA also features a terrace on the sixth floor in addition to a furnished and landscaped rooftop – offering sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline, neighborhood rooftops, and the iconic New York Harbor. Bike storage and a package room are also available for residents. The building’s commercial space will be anchored by the brand new Bonjour Food Market – providing a convenient shopping option for ATHA tenants.
ATHA is located in the Court Square neighborhood of Long Island City, conveniently within a block to the 7, E, M and G subway trains and just minutes to Midtown Manhattan. MoMA PS1, the Murray Playground, and a variety of local restaurants and cafes are also within easy reach.
