Caspi Development Announces the West in Greenpoint Is Fully Leased

Residential Building at 144 West Street Achieves Milestone in Under Four Weeks

Caspi Development, a leader in the development of residential and commercial properties, recently announced The West in Greenpoint, Brooklyn has been fully leased after less than four weeks on the market.

Located at 144 West Street near the East River waterfront, The West is a seven-story boutique building with 22 apartments, seven of which are part of the Affordable New York program.

Pricing for market rate residences started at $3,035 for one-bedrooms, and $4,000 for two-bedrooms. Corcoran New Development is the exclusive leasing agent.

“The residential rental market is rebounding to pre-pandemic levels faster than anyone really anticipated, and 144 West Street has been magnificently received by the marketplace,” said David J. Maundrell III, EVP, New Development at Corcoran. “The building’s popularity is a testament to its attractive design, sought-after amenities, and highly desirable location on the Greenpoint waterfront.”

Inspired by the neighborhood’s industrial past, GF55 Architects designed The West with a façade clad primarily in red brick. Building amenities include a top-floor residents’ lounge overlooking the East River and Manhattan skyline, with direct access to a roof deck for outdoor entertaining or relaxing. Apartments feature herringbone wood floors, Bosch cooktops and microwaves, and Kohler fixtures.

The building is located just one block from the India Street landing for the East River Ferry to Midtown Manhattan or the Financial District, enabling residents to commute to and from work in minutes. It is also one block from the G train, with easy access to the L and 7 trains.

Move-ins will begin shortly at the property, which was developed by Caspi Development and Barone Management.

“As the New York City residential market continues to bounce back, Greenpoint has become particularly desirable due to its neighborhood feel, East River access, and proximity to Manhattan and Williamsburg,” said Joshua Caspi, Principal of Caspi Development.
