Paola Hernandez Presents Fall/Winter 2019 Collection at NYFW

Mexico City-born designer Paola Hernandez, made an appearance at New York Fashion Week, presenting her Fall/Winter 2019 collection. Through fashion design, Hernández explores philosophical concepts. These often engender a spirit of collaboration with the world of contemporary art with deep symbolism behind each design element. Motherhood has greatly influenced Paola Hernandez’s latest collection and an eye-opening experience for her on the importance of life in the present, with time as an absolute. For her first knitwear collection, the Mexican designer was inspired by a poet from her home country, Gaelle Dreyfus, and her ‘Constellation’ series of poems with embroidery. Among them, ‘Aqui y Ahora’ which translates to ‘Here and Now’ motivated the NYC-based creator and the idea of accessing eternity through being present. Paola showcased 13 looks featuring an intricate and elegant knitwear collection including sweaters, cardigans and ponchos, outfitted with luxurious fabrics. The presentation featured dancers from Elisa Monte Dance, choreographed by Tiffany-Rea Fisher, hair by Jenny Balding with CUTLER SALON, makeup by MAC Cosmetics, and nails by Frances Liang with Sundays Studio.
