Kane Footwear, a leader in the active recovery footwear industry, announced a collaborative recovery shoe benefiting longtime nonprofit partner, 1% for the Planet, contributing to the fulfillment of Kane’s promise for a more sustainable future. This collaboration will result in a contribution that goes above and beyond Kane’s annual 1% for the Planet pledge.

These donations to 1% for the Planet are only the beginning of Kane’s commitment to a greener planet.”
Sustainability is the foundation of Kane Footwear as its flagship recovery shoe, the Revive, is made from 100% bio-based EVA made with Brazilian sugarcane. Inspired by sugarcane as its material, the company bears the name Kane. A certified B Corp organization, Kane minimizes packaging by using the FSC-certified (Forest Stewardship Council) box the shoes are packaged in as the shipment box, avoiding the use of unnecessary materials.
In addition to Kane’s support of the Surfrider Foundation, the company also developed Project Renew, a sustainability program that allows customers to send back their worn Kane shoes for a discounted price on their next pair. The used shoes then get upcycled into yoga and changing mats. Kane is working toward a completely circular Revive model.

The Kane x 1% for the Planet recovery shoe, which will retail for $90 at launch, features the motto “Not just Earth Day, Everyday,” inlaid in the footbed of the shoe, underscoring a collective commitment to the environment 365 days a year. The shoe also features a 1% for the Planet woven label on the back of the shoe.
