JLL has completed five new lease transactions on behalf of the rapidly growing water concept Purity Water as the brand executes a franchise expansion throughout northern and central New Jersey.

Founded in Rockaway, N.J. in 2022 by Christi Tomimbang and Peter Pena, Purity Water is on a mission to make high-quality purified and alkaline water more accessible while reducing reliance on single-use plastic bottles. The concept combines advanced water purification technology with a neighborhood retail model designed to meet growing consumer demand for wellness-oriented products and environmentally conscious solutions.

Since launching its franchising initiative last year, Purity Water has partnered exclusively with JLL Managing Director David Townes and Vice President Alana Friedman to identify strategic expansion opportunities in high-traffic grocery-anchored shopping centers throughout the region.

The new locations include:

  • Hackensack – 2,000 square feet at 375-417 Route 17 South in a former Pathmark center. The landlord was represented by Jacob Bijou of Catalyst Real Estate Partners.
  • West Orange – 1,267 square feet at Essex Green Shopping Center, 495 Prospect Ave. The landlord was represented by Amy Staats of Katz & Associates.
  • Bedminster – 1,000 square feet at The Hills Village, 550 Hills Dr., where JLL also represented landlord Longpoint Partners.
  • Berkeley Heights – 1,200 square feet at Berkeley Heights Shopping Center, 404 Springfield Ave. The landlord was represented by Chris Conway of Atlantic Coastal Real Estate.
  • Middletown – 1,003 square feet at Middletown Plaza, 1425 Route 35, in a transaction completed directly with Rob McGarrigle of Brixmor Property Group.

“Purity Water has created a concept that feels incredibly timely in today’s retail environment,” said Townes. “Consumers are increasingly focused on health and convenience, and it delivers both in an approachable neighborhood retail format. From the beginning, the brand had a clear vision for expansion, and we’re proud to help bring that vision to life across New Jersey.”
