Fields Construction Company today announced that construction is underway at 722 Jefferson Street in Hoboken, where 722 Jefferson St LLC (a joint venture of Derby Consulting and Crimson Capital) is developing a five-story condominium project.
Fields is serving as construction manager and general contractor for the building, which, when complete, will feature 15 residences, each with a deeded parking space, 2,000 square feet of courtyard space, two private rear yards, and three private 930-square-foot roof decks. Designed by architecture firm Minervini Vandermark, the building’s exterior is being constructed using a mix of brick, composite wood, metal panels and glass.
It’s estimated the building, which will feature a mix of two- and three-bedroom homes, will be complete by spring 2018.
“Hoboken is home for Fields Construction, so it’s always especially exciting when we’re called upon to build projects that are great additions to the city,” Fields Construction Principal Jim Caulfield said. “With 722 Jefferson, the developer is meeting the market’s need for large, family-friendly condominiums in the heart of town. Anticipation for this project is high, and we look forward to delivering it on time.”
The building replaces a half-block of underutilized structures in a part of the city that is home to the Monroe Center’s mix of retail and entertainment. Situated just off the intersection of 8th and Jefferson streets, it’s also down the block from St. Anne’s Church, which hosts a famous Italian Festival each year, and is close to the 9th Street Light Rail station.
