The Metropolitan Movers Association (MMA), has provided relocation services to international children’s charity Smile Train, in which the service fee was donated directly back to Smile Train to assist children in need.
Smile Train, the world’s largest cleft charity, has relocated its office from 41 Madison Avenue, New York City to a renovated floor at 633 Third Avenue. MMA’s scope of services, provided as a charitable contribution for the relocation of Smile Train, included the relocation of 53 employees including storage, filing, and personal contents, all IT equipment, 39 pieces of furniture, disconnect and reconnect services for 53 workstations including monitors, docking stations, and other peripheral devices, as well as packing materials.
Smile Train’s Mission
Smile Train is an international children’s charity with a sole mission to fund cleft lip and palate repair surgeries to children in developing countries. These surgeries allow for these children to breathe, speak and eat better as a result.
“This is a significant contribution on the part of the Metropolitan Movers Association, and one that will forever change the lives of 100 of the world’s poorest and most vulnerable children and their families,” said William J. Horan, Senior Vice President, Operations of Smile Train.
MMA’s Commitment to the Community
“We believe in Smile Train’s mission and hope to continue our support,” said Craig Robbie, vice president of MMA. “The MMA and its member companies are deeply committed to giving back to the community, and over the years have made monetary contributions and furniture donations to a variety of organizations and causes. This year the MMA has launched its new philanthropic initiative, MMA Cares, which donates furniture and storage items to humanitarian organizations in the greater New York area, and we are pleased to support Smile Train’s commitment to help children around the world.”
