The Rudin Family, along with joint venture partner Eyal Ofer’s Global Holdings, is about to launch an interactive experience for dogs and dog lovers at The Greenwich Lane, a state-of-the-art, 199-unit condominium located between West 11th and West 12th streets on the east side of Seventh Avenue.
Beginning on September 15th, Human’s Best Friend, an immersive playground designed for dogs, will open a two-month long 3,117 square-foot pop-up location at 15 7th Avenue, situated on the corner of West 12th Street.
Upon entering the pop-up space, humans and their pets will be able to explore a series of curated environments, including the Backyard, the Dog House, the Bone Yard, the Toy Pit, the Water Bowl, and Paw Print Hill. The event will also feature adoptable dogs available for play in partnership with a dozen local rescue organizations.
Human’s Best Friend was designed by Brian Tovar and Jason Sherwood of LIVESIGHT, the experiential design firm behind projects including the Museum of Ice Cream, Refinery 29’s 29 Rooms, Sam Smith’s World Arena Tour, the Hall of Magic, Details Magazine’s Lincoln Center Fashion Week Takeover, among many others.
“Our hope is that Human’s Best Friend will quickly become a must-see destination for canine lovers, visitors, and local residents,” said Michael Rudin, Senior Vice President of Rudin Management Company. “Our prime West Village location is an ideal spot to promote their mission, with great visibility and easy access to transportation.”
Human’s Best Friend was represented by Appear Here in lease negotiations, while Rudin represented ownership in-house along with Michael Rudin and Kevin Daly.
