Reidy Contracting Group is pleased to announce the completion of its lobby renovations at Hines’ Hudson Square, a redeveloped commercial space that accommodates businesses and creative industries at 155 Avenue of the Americas. The space is part of the Hines Hudson Square portfolio, on behalf of Hines Property Management.
Multi-Phased Renovations to an Active Office Building Lobby
Reidy Contracting Group recently completed a multi-phased gut renovation of an active lobby and adjacent loading dock. Upgrades included a new full HVAC, fire alarm, sprinkler, and architectural interior and exterior. Project Manager Michelle Dowd worked alongside Operations Manager Danny Griffin and Site Supervisor Chris DeRaffele to complete technical aspects of the project including the detailed logistics and planning required to keep the lobby operational throughout the duration of the renovation.
The In-Depth Logistics and Phasing for Success
RCG was chosen as the construction manager due to the expertise they exhibited throughout previous projects completed with Hines. The company’s in-house estimators and project management team produced a detailed bid accompanied by an in-depth logistics and phasing plan, ensuring project efficiency and a successful outcome.
The project required unique planning strategies to complete the scope of work while keeping the lobby occupied. This included staggered brickwork finishes which entailed special planning and design coordination with the brick manufacturer and installer. Custom brick shapes and sizes as well as an intricate installation contributed to this distinctive lobby. Additionally, different platforms and heights within the space required a detailed benchmark and finish elevations.
“We value the relationship we have built with Hines over the last few years, Hines always has a great team and we are delighted and proud of the finished product of another A+I design.” said Pat Reidy, President of Reidy Contracting Group.
