OWAL has been retained by Lighthouse Realty Group to provide A.I. security for seven Manhattan-based multi-family properties with nearly 400 residential units. Spanning Hell’s Kitchen to Harlem and Hamilton Heights, buildings’ residents will be protected by a unique cloud-based platform developed by the two-year-old PropTech company and programmed to identify and instantly notify management about anomalous activities.
“OWAL is able to send configurable alerts to building managers and designated security personnel in real time,” says founder and CEO Chaim Fried. “Because this portfolio includes non-doorman buildings, the residents now have the benefit of being protected at all times from just outside the building and in the lobby, hallways and stairwells.”

In addition to identifying possible trespassing or loitering, cameras in common areas will alert us to such nuisances as smoking in hallways or habitual littering. In OWAL’s first assigned building, it alerted us to four apartments being used illegally as Airbnb units, which gave strangers access to our building and made residents less safe.”
With artificial intelligence developed by former Google engineers, OWAL’s video platforms are programmable for most hardware, bypassing the need for costly camera upgrades. Its proprietary software is designed to analyze images in real time and isolate irregular activities. It is also programmed to alert designated personnel so that a course of action may be quickly determined without constant monitoring.
OWAL has eliminated human error that occurs when individuals try to monitor multiple video images at one time. Its facial recognition and biometric software is equally effective in providing potential life-saving, crime deterrence, and nuisance-solving functions.
