Resort wear brand Sigal is known for its hand-painted prints, vibrant color palettes and artistic approach to design. Founded by Sigal Cohen Wolkowiez, the brand draws inspiration from culture, architecture and personal experiences, transforming these into unique collections that feel expressive.

With a background in visual communication and design, Cohen Wolkowiez approaches each collection through the lens of a storyteller and artist. Every print begins as an original painting, created in her studio using watercolor, ink and expressive brushwork before being translated onto carefully selected fabrics. This process has become a defining characteristic of the brand, giving each collection a distinctive point of view and a strong sense of place.

Since its launch, Sigal has developed a reputation for creating collections that go beyond seasonal trends, instead drawing from meaningful destinations, cultural traditions and the people encountered along the way. These influences are woven throughout the brand’s designs, resulting in pieces that celebrate the beauty of discovery.

This philosophy is reflected in the brand’s Resort 2027 collection, Chuao, inspired by the coastal Venezuelan village of Chuao. Known for its rich cultural heritage, colorful architecture and world-renowned cacao, the village has held personal significance for Cohen Wolkowiez for nearly two decades. The collection incorporates hand-painted prints inspired by local folklore, landscapes and traditions, while accessories feature handcrafted elements sourced from Venezuelan artisans.

“This collection is rooted in longing—a quiet homage to home, memory and the enduring spirit of Venezuela,” said Cohen Wolkowiez. “Inspired by Chuao, a place rich in culture that continues to live within me, the collection translates warmth, color and emotion into wearable art. Through fashion, I continue telling stories that transcend borders, carrying with them an extraordinary richness of creativity, humanity and beauty.”

As the brand has evolved, Sigal has remained committed to thoughtful production and quality craftsmanship. Collections are produced in limited quantities and incorporate responsibly sourced materials, including EcoVero viscose, recycled polyester, cottonlinen blends and silk. This considered approach allows the brand to maintain its artistic integrity while creating pieces designed to be treasured beyond a single season.

For the brand’s Chuao collection presentation, Cohen Wolkowiez designed a series of statement necklaces featuring hand-painted wooden charms crafted by an artisan from Chuao. She also partnered with Venezuelan brand Hana to co-design a collection of handcrafted belts, each centered with an oversized motherof-pearl shell and finished with four strands of locally sourced freshwater pearls on either side. The one-of-a-kind accessories were styled throughout the presentation, complementing the collection. “Everything in this collection traveled a long way to be in Miami,” said Cohen Wolkowiez. “Just like the people of Venezuela.”
