British jeweler Alex Monroe is celebrating 40 years of jewelry making with the launch of Scattered Seeds, an Autumn/ Winter 2026 collection inspired by the changing seasons and nature’s continual cycle of rebirth and renewal.

The milestone marks four decades of a distinctly British approach to jewelry, shaped by Monroe’s lifelong fascination with nature, traditional craftsmanship and the stories objects can carry. Throughout his career, the smallest details of the natural world have provided inspiration, transformed into intricate pieces designed to be worn, loved and passed on.

For Scattered Seeds, Monroe turns his attention to the fleeting moment at the end of summer, when warm, dappled light begins to fade and the landscape shifts toward autumn. Dried seeds and pods provide the starting point, their organic forms and intricate textures reimagined as sculptural jewelry.

Throughout the collection, poppy heads, honesty pods, pinecones, sunflower seeds and flyaway dandelion seeds become earrings, necklaces, rings and bracelets. Pink freshwater pearls bring softness and subtle color, appearing alongside delicate poppy seed heads.

Crafted by Hand

True to Monroe’s approach over the past 40 years, craftsmanship remains central to Scattered Seeds. Each design begins in the workshop, where traditional handmaking techniques recreate the intricacies and imperfections found in nature. Layers of silver are compressed to form delicate honesty pods, while pinecones are constructed layer by layer. One of the collection’s hero pieces, the large oval “Make a Wish” dandelion locket, is hand-engraved with flyaway dandelion seeds, creating a modern keepsake designed to hold something personal within.

Other highlights include the large poppy seed head necklace with shaking seeds, the poppy head chandelier drop earrings with pink pearls, the honesty pod necklace with heart-shaped seeds and the sunflower seed fleur de lis chandelier earrings.

40 Years, a New Chapter

The symbolism behind Scattered Seeds feels especially poignant in Monroe’s 40th year. At its heart, the collection explores memories captured in tangible form: precious moments kept, carried forward and passed from generation to generation, much like seeds scattered on the wind.

Reflecting on the milestone, Monroe said, “I feel so lucky to be celebrating 40 years of jewelry making. I’ve had incredible support from press, retailers, customers and so many people along the way. It’s made it all such fun, and I think that’s the key.

“I’m not very good at looking backward, but I know how much I love being a jeweler and seeing people enjoy my work. I’ve traveled the world, met amazing people and worked on wonderful collaborations, but most of all, I’ve made jewelry that has become part of people’s lives, through birthdays, marriages, successes, love and loss. And I’m still bursting with ideas. There’s so much more to do.”

Rather than simply looking back, Scattered Seeds captures the spirit that has always driven Monroe forward: curiosity, craftsmanship and the joy of creating something meaningful. Inspired by nature’s constant cycle of change and renewal, the collection celebrates everything that has grown over the past 40 years while looking toward everything still to come.
