Keller Williams Tribeca, a Manhattan-based real estate brokerage firm specializing in residential sales and rentals, part of the Keller Williams family, has announced that it will host a seminar open to all agents (and press) called “Black Belt Rapport Building” lead by master instructor and well-known police interrogation trainer, Jason Woodard.

Have you ever wondered how police interrogators get suspects to confess heinous crimes? No, it is not waterboarding them. It is through rapport building. Police and governmental agencies have done lots of research on how to do this after the disgraced “enhanced interrogation” methods were exposed and banned.

This is the first time these techniques have been modified for top professionals in real estate. It is a high-level tactical workshop designed to provide listing agents an edge in this increasingly competitive field.

Jason Woodard, who has instructed over 3,000 police officers in these techniques, will lead the class. He is a renowned leader and educator in this field.

“The abilities to expertly build rapport and understand predictable human behavior are game-changers in any profession and ultimately make our day to day lives easier,” explained Woodard.

This is an interactive one-and-a-half day course which will cover all the techniques applicable in the civilian world which have been pressure tested in the harshest environments. Topics to be covered are:

  • Understanding human behavior
  • Body language
  • How to build rapport (and how to fix it if it’s slipping/broken)
  • How to have an honest conversation about sensitive subjects
  • Motivations for why people buy/sell
  • Branding – what is your brand? How to clarify and represent your brand effectively
  • How do your customers perceive you?

“Keller Williams brings best-in-class educators such as Jason to our region so that our agents always have an edge in this competitive business,” said Mark Chin, CEO, Keller Williams Tribeca.
