Construction is near completion at 856 Washington Avenue, a modern, luxury 14-story condominium in Brooklyn’s Prospect Heights with 26 oversized high-end units featuring expansive views of Prospect Park and Manhattan.

“We are excited to report our first buyers will move in this fall,” said Douglas Elliman’s Gregory Williamson, whose team, along with Elliman’s Maroni Team, is handling marketing and sales for the building. “856 Washington Avenue is the first condominium of this caliber to be developed in Prospect Heights.”

856 Washington’s developer is Valyrian Capital and its partner, The Daten Group. The architect is Kutnicki Bernstein, with designer Stephanie Goto Design, who was recently named to Elle Décor’s A-List “100 of the Best Interior Designers from Miami to Milan” by the magazine’s editors.

“856 Washington is Goto’s first large new development project — in one of Brooklyn’s hottest neighborhoods and she did a spectacular job,” said Douglas Elliman’s VP/marketing Caitlin Chagan. “She has made a great home for our future residents.” Goto designed the building’s residences and amenities, including the lobby, a curated library salon, fitness center, yoga room, bicycle parking and residents’ lounge with adjacent children’s play area.

According to Goto, the building’s interiors “reflect modern city living in Brooklyn… an experience accentuated with simple lines, warm textures and only the essential details.”

The building’s design, according to Goto, is inspired by the cultural context of Prospect Park and showcases architectural textures and materials of concrete, marble, steel and natural wood “that recall Brooklyn’s character through a modern lens.”

The award-winning designer also gave a nod to the historic Green Point Savings Bank’s former site where the luxury condominium is now located. She created an eye-catching art installation in the lobby featuring the bank’s original metal safety deposit boxes to create two illuminated wall features that frame the lobby.

“A recalling of history was important in creating this element,” said Goto. “We used the safety deposit boxes in an unconventional way to make the arrival experience one of surprise and discovery with a touch of historical context. At 856 Washington, it was important to narrate a story of [the] continuous journey from the museum in the park to this special residence in Prospect Heights.”

Two- and three-bedroom units at 856 Washington are priced from $1.495 to $2.575 million.
