Chef Joe Oesterwind creates culinary dreams-come-true at Eau Palm Beach’s restaurant
An evening at Angle — the most modern steakhouse in town — is unlike any you may have had in quite a while. If you are like many of us eating at home for the past year or so, a night out is just what you need. From the moment you arrive in the crystal chandelier-lit lobby at Eau Palm Beach, your evening begins.
Step into the Champagne Bar at Angle, where you enter through a private door and start off with a glass — or two — of bubbly or a hand-crafted Manhattan. Let Angle’s mixologist know what spirit you prefer — sweet or tart — and he will surprise you with a special creation.
Just as you’re enjoying your last sips of your cocktails, Angle’s Maitre’d, Zsolt Neuwirth (or a member of his team) will escort you to your table in the restaurant’s finely-appointed dining room.
Settle in; you’re in for a treat. Angle’s Chef de Cuisine Joe Oesterwind, a native of Pennsylvania who has been with the resort for more than a decade, will surprise and delight you with each course. Many of the items on his menu have been sourced from local Florida farms — what he calls a “farm to fork” experience.
From the seafood tower — big enough to share with the table — to the Creekstone Farms Tomahawk steak for two, the pan-roasted chicken or the local flounder, there is something on the menu to appeal to everyone’s taste. If not, ask Chef Joe to create something unique and special just for you.
Of course, an evening at Angle would not be complete without wine. The restaurant’s wine program, under the director of sommelier Pam Bafumo, offers a large selection of wines from around the world. If you are unsure of which wine will pair best with your dinner selection, ask our experts!
Be sure and save room for dessert. Pastry chef Zachary Detweiller’s key lime tart is not to be missed. But, of course, if you love chocolate, his molten chocolate cake is equally delicious.
Angle is open Tuesday through Saturday from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. The Champagne Bar is open from 5 p.m. on the same days. Be sure to call ahead for a reservation.
