Le Toiny St. Barths is Back

One of the Caribbean’s finest boutique hotels, Le Toiny is an intimate, 22-suite property that has reopened in time for St. Barths’ popular fall/winter season with a transformed guest experience, including the return of its renowned restaurant, Le Toiny Restaurant, the celebrated Serenity Cottage, as well as clinics at the brand-new Surf Shack led by professional surfer and adored St. Barths native, David Blanchard. Le Toiny emerges with a refreshed identity and reimagined interiors by London-based designer Bee Osborn, in addition to two brand-new four-bedroom villas available for rental, including Villa Nureyev — the former holiday home of legendary Russian ballet dancer, Rudolf Nureyev — and the only villa constructed ocean-side of the wild coast, bounded entirely by the Caribbean Sea, with a floating deck that offers 180-degree ocean views. Le Toiny is one of the most chic, serene private oases on the glamorous Caribbean isle, offering something more relaxed, personalized and discreet for St. Barths.

Set The Scene

As the only hotel on St. Barths’ wild, uninhabited Caribbean coast, Le Toiny’s location atop the hillside above Anse de Toiny offers unobstructed panoramic views of the sea with remarkable vantage points throughout. Under the guidance of Rev. Charlie and Mandie Vere Nicoll since 2015, the hotel sets the standard for elegance and high-class design, with calming ‘coastal chic’ interiors set against majestic green palms and exotic flowers. This is one of the most enviable addresses on the island.

The Suites

Set across 17 acres of land overlooking crystal blue waters, the hotel’s 22 suites are its true soul and essence. Unlike any other accommodation travelers will find on the island, all suites at Le Toiny boast over 1,700 square feet of space and come wellequipped with remarkable ocean views, private terraces and large heated pools. Perfect for families and larger groups, travelers also have the option to choose from eight connecting suites with two-bedroom options available upon request. From the two-bedroom La Villa Suite to the three-duplex Spirit Suites and Signature Suite, each has been artfully updated. Guests of the hotel will be enveloped by the Caribbean-fresh color palette of neutral tones, in contrast to the occasional pop of Le Toiny’s signature hot pink. Setting an ultra-tranquil, laidback ambiance, each space seamlessly complements the surrounding elements allowing the extraordinarily beautiful natural backdrop to take center stage. A love of nature is at the heart of both the hotel and island’s appeal, complemented by a sign on property that reads: “If you’re not barefoot or wearing flipflops, you’re overdressed.”

Villa Nureyev

Upon Le Toiny’s reopening, the hotel unveiled a brand-new accommodation ideally suited to families and groups of friends, looking for an escape to reconnect after much time spent apart. Villa Nureyev, the only villa constructed ocean-side of the wild coast and bounded entirely by the Caribbean Sea, comes with a storied past as the former vacation hideaway of legendary Russian ballet dancer, Rudolf Nureyev. Purchased and renovated entirely by Nureyev in the 1980s, the villa’s original construction dates to the ‘60s, deemed a truly magical setting on the island of St. Barths.

With over 3,000 square feet of expansive outdoor space, Villa Nureyev has four bedrooms including two masters on the main floor, in addition to a private suite with its own terrace, kitchen area and guest cottage. The large living room with a piano, and separate lounge — complete with its own bar — on the lower level are ideal for entertaining, while other features include a heated outdoor pool on one deck and a Jacuzzi and Steam Bath on another, both within diving distance of the Caribbean Sea. Its history and location create one of the most unique, mysterious villas on the island. The villa’s signature feature remains an expansive ‘floating’ deck, just one of the spots where guests can relax and take in the breathtaking unobstructed 180-degree views of the ocean.

Villa Over The Ocean

Launching on December 15, 2021, Villa Over the Ocean is a contemporary four-bedroom property just steps away from Le Toiny. Encompassed by the island’s verdant surroundings, this 7,000-square-foot private oasis in Grand Fond will offer unobstructed ocean views, a private 900-square-foot heated pool and a vibrant tropical garden. With a spectacular setting over the Caribbean Sea, the exterior deck will provide guests with several spaces in which to entertain, while also offering the utmost in privacy and seclusion. The deck will also be home to a chic bar area, complete with a gazebo, perfect for evening cocktails. Consisting of four self-contained units, Villa Over the Ocean will feature high-ceilings and spacious bedrooms, each with en-suite bathrooms and separate dressing areas. With a 24/7 concierge service, guests will also be granted exclusive access to the services at Le Toiny, including the hotel’s atmospheric Beach Club.

The Restaurants

Offering a front-row view of the ocean, locals and guests alike can delight in Le Toiny’s gastronomic experiences on property, with special rotating menus to satisfy even the most frequent visitors. Known as one of the best fine dining options on the island by French gourmet guide “Gault & Millau,” Le Toiny Restaurant features high-quality ingredients and refined cuisine from mastermind Chef Brenton Styles, with delicious specialties including Mahi-mahi, curried cauliflower and tuna tartare. Le Toiny also offers exclusive service at The Beach Club, a hidden paradise stretching over 40,000 square feet on Toiny Bay. Incorporating the freshest local ingredients, The Beach Club gives guests a chance to sit back, sip and unwind with island favorite dishes such as delicious fresh grilled fish, lobster and salads complemented by refreshing cocktails. As guests enjoy these culinary treats, a soundtrack to their getaway is provided by a resident DJ, creating the perfect atmosphere to further indulge in island time.
