Artist Junior Sandler Brings Bursts Of Color To Palm Beach

Artist Junior Sandler’s work is what Palm Beach dreams are made of. Growing up in Bloomfield Hills Michigan, her family kept a Floridian home where she fell in love with the glamour, style, flora and fauna of the area. Her coastal feel fits into any home with its fantastic pop of color and happy exuberance.

We sat down with the artist to learn more about her technique and inspiration.

What painting or media are you currently working with?

I have recently started a technique (which I call the Louise technique) where my paint overflows to the sides of the canvas. This allows me to add interest to other areas of the canvas and for the collector to hang it frameless. Another project I am working on is a collaboration with Jake Packard who is a well-known photographer (who I met through my Harvard Alumni Club of the Palm Beaches that I am a part of). He enlarges my prints and covers them with acrylic/resin. This type of work can be featured in outdoor cabanas, kitchens, bathrooms, hotels, beach clubs and yacht clubs. I have additionally been adding neutrals and abstracts to my repertoire.

Who do you typically work with or sell your art to?

I have worked with many of the top designers in the Palm Beach area who have showcased my work, art collectors nationwide and recent clients in London and Australia.

What is something people might not realize about your art?

People often try to add a painting to their collections based on color and composition. My works have coastal influence but are versatile enough that they can be featured in any style home, from traditional to modern.

What are your plans for the future?

I envision myself collaborating with more businesses that focus on fabric designs, wallpaper and jewelry. I am open to all creative ideas. I also enjoy working with interior designers and architects. The options are endless!

What artistic motto do you live by?

“A room without artwork is like wearing a cocktail dress without any jewelry.”

What is your favorite thing about Palm Beach?

I love how friendly and philanthropic Palm Beach is. The people are warm and hospitable. It has the feel of a small town with cosmopolitan sophistication. The appreciation for art and design is evident through taste and style.
