The Concorde Hotel New York is a 4-Star luxury boutique hotel located within the Park Avenue Plaza District. The hotel was once home to British Airways’ New York to London crews but is now a retreat for the discerning traveler. Its name, The Concorde Hotel, exudes the same sleek design synonymous to the original Concorde jet. This glass, intimate, modern structure recently underwent an extensive transformation of its 122 minimalistic rooms, elegant lobby and expansive use of public space. A cozy restaurant and bar entice your appetite as you approach the courtyard where you can enjoy an early breakfast or a late-night nightcap.
In 2016, the building completed a significant renovation and was redesigned by Andres Escobar, of Lemay + Escobar. The building’s architecture captures the brilliancy of natural light that enters the rooms and takes advantage of the exceptional North-South perspective, capitalizing on the glittering panoramic views of the New York City skyline. The design creates a Zen-like encounter with all rooms being light and airy, minimally decorated with furniture that appears to be floating and some of the most spacious bathrooms available in Manhattan hotels; each with a separate shower area and bathtub. The rooms have marble-top furniture with low-top drawers designed to double as luggage racks, and under-the-bed pullout drawers that allow guests to live comfortably out of their suitcase or unpack and simply stay for a while.
Situated off of the renowned Park Avenue, it is a short walk to corporate offices, luxury shopping on Fifth Avenue and Central Park. The hotel attracts a wide variety of travelers; from diplomats and business executives, to shoppers, families and those who want to have a true New York experience. The hotel has been a favorite among luxury brand executives such as Rolex and Sotheby’s auction clientele, as well as designers participating in New York Fashion Week.
The Concorde Hotel New York staff openly welcomes you to your home away from home. Its management team has cultivated a friendly environment to match the tranquil atmosphere by employing an ultra-courteous multilingual staff that ensures all guests’ needs are met.
As you enter the hotel lobby, you are immediately drawn further into the property by the beauty of each distinct area. The lobby is divided into four specific areas: the foyer, the reception desk and guest services, Bonsaii café and tapas bar, and the enclosed outdoor terrace; each is a private vignette buffered by public seating areas that provide glimpses into what the hotel offers its guests.
Each floor houses a maximum of four guest rooms granting near private access to the rooms, with a residential feel. From the 5th to the 14th floor, each has one front facing suite including the Terrace One Bedroom Suite on the 10th floor, which offers sweeping views of the city overlooking the Central Synagogue, a gem of New York architecture known for its double towers and beautiful domes, as well as the southward skyline.
The hotel has five junior suites, five doubles, 14 standard, 23 premier king, 20 city view queen rooms and 44 deluxe king rooms. The 37th floor boasts a 650 square-foot Ambassador Parlor that features a separate living room with a fireplace, kitchenette and leather sofa that pulls out into a full-size bed.
Adding to the comfort of the stay is the accessibility; guests control the amount of natural light in their rooms with electric-powered curtains and light switches controlled at bedside.
The Concorde Hotel New York is pet friendly and allows guests to bring this family member under 25lbs at no additional charge.
Each room is equipped with a Nespresso machine accompanied by assorted coffees and teas. The hotel provides guests with Molten Brown toiletries—as well as bathrobes and slippers—guaranteeing that each stay is memorable and relaxing.
The Concorde Hotel New York’s business center on the third floor can be booked for meetings and private events. The business center is available for guests as well as private booking. Also on the third floor is an outdoor terrace that is available for guests as an alcove for additional privacy. The hotel’s fourth floor comprises a 24-hour fitness center to be upgraded to a state-of-the-art facility with innovative exercise machines overlooking the Central Synagogue.
