In Cappadocia, in the heart of Turkey, the earth retains the memory of an unblemished emotion, a shiver of saffron, sandalwood and myrrh surfaces on the skin.

Inspired by the Turkish city, the fragrance is housed in a sleek bottle adorned with plating designed to represent the “fairy chimneys” that punctuate the Cappadocia region. Volcanic eruptions created this surreal moonscape as the lava flows formed tuff rock, which wind and rain sculpted into sinuous valleys with curvy cliff faces and pointy fairy chimneys.

The main note of Cappadocia Eau de Parfum, Saffron is an intense spicy, aromatic, woody and phenolic aroma. Harvesting the flowers and separating the stigmas and stamens from the petals are all part of the lengthy but beautiful journey to create the aromatic fragrance. The flowers, which begin to grow in mid-October, are picked and taken home in baskets. This laborious work, which requires a certain amount of skill, takes place from sunrise to sunset and lasts up to 20-25 days.

The supporting notes of Cappadocia Eau de Parfum, Sandalwood and Myrrh, soften the spice allowing the wearer to move gently through the day while providing an edge.

MEMO Paris Cappadocia (75ml) is available at Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and memoparis.com for $310.
