Dib Management announced the launch of a new luxury loft-style rental building at 124 West Houston, a landmarked building between Sullivan and Thompson Streets on the crossroads of of the West Village and Soho.
The elegantly renovated building with four full lofts was once the iconic former home and studio of conceptual artists Arakawa and Madeline Ginsand where legendary singer and songwriter Bob Dylan once used the ground floor as a private recording studio and rehearsal space.
The unique residences celebrate the scale and architectural character of the historic landmarked building while offering oversized, loft-like living spaces that are filled with large windows, including north and south exposure, 12-foot high ceilings, and many original architectural details including cast-iron on the façade.
“This is a rare piece of New York culture with a great past,” said Dib Development’s Roland Dib, who purchased the 15,650-square-foot building in 2013 for $15.4 million. “I go out of my way to preserve most of the original details and history of all the buildings I acquire and renovate.”
The four apartments-that are all two bedrooms, two or more baths-range in size from 2,000 square feet to the one-of-a-kind penthouse with an additional 750 square feet of outdoor space.
Rents are $12,500 a month for three lower apartments and $18,000 a month for the penthouse, with its rooftop garden’s stunning, panoramic and open views.
The building also features a ground floor commercial space perfect for high end retail with an original terracotta tile floor.
Rebecca Bruce at Daizy Realty, daizyrealty.com, has the exclusive listing. (917) 757-4548.
