Renowned French designer Jacques Garcia makes his grand debut in the residential realm with the d’Orsay, a luxury boutique condominium located on West 14th Street.
Garcia started his career working for a firm comprised of contemporary architects after finishing up his education at an interior design school in France. He created the concepts and interiors of the Tour Montparnasse in Paris, Le Méridien hotels, and the Royal Monceau a Paris. Later he became an avid collector of furniture and royal art objects from the French Revolution. He was named Commander of the Order of Arts and Letters, and a Chevalier in the order of the Légion d’honneur.
Now, with his intricate designs imagined exclusively for the d’Orsay, Garcia has added a specialized touch to the boutique condominium priced from $1.695 to $8.95 million.
The luxury building boasts elegant finishes and thoughtful amenities as Garcia’s vision and talent pull through in every miniscule detail. Developed by Adellco Corporation, the 11-story project consists of 21 residences with French and European influences. Hill West Architects is creating the architectural design for the European-inspired building located in the nexus of the West Village, Meatpacking District, and Chelsea.
The d’Orsay features one- to four-bedroom residences that have a direct entry from the elevator, in addition more than half of the homes have exterior terraces or balconies to serve as an outdoor oasis set above the hustle-and-bustle of the City.
With wide-plank custom stained oak wood flooring situated in a chevron pattern, custom designed double-paned Skyline casement windows, Bosch washer and dryers, and gas fireplaces on the seventh floor and penthouse residences, Garcia, in combination with Adellco and Hill West Architects, has ensured every residence is unique and has its own luxurious amenities in its prime living spaces.
Designed for entertaining, the kitchens feature oak cabinetry with white bronze detailing, recessed downlights for under cabinetry lighting, Calacatta marble slab countertops and islands, Calacatta subway tile backsplash, Liebherr integrated refrigerators, Wolf ovens and cooktops, a Sharp microwave drawer, and wine coolers.
After the party, residents can retreat to the master baths which are finished with Calacatta marble, Kohler undermount bathtubs, glass-enclosed showers with Nuvolato marble floors, and radiant floor heating for an at-home spa experience.
While the d’Orsay features many luxurious amenities, Garcia thought out each residence with an eloquent yet simple design.
